3 basic ways to get your traffic started

May 29th, 2009

You have a (presumably new) website and now are looking forward to get some targeted people visiting your site.

Here are 3 basic and easy ways to get your traffic started which should be part of each webmasters arsenal when it comes to web marketing:

Forum Posting : Signup in forums related to your market and comment forum threads or answer questions without trying to sell our product or service. Establish yourself as authority in your field. Once people realize that what you say has true value and depth they will visit your website to get more information about you and eventually use your product or service when they are ready.

Blog Commenting : Blog commenting is by far not out or worthless when it comes to creating traffic. It doesn’t matter whether its a dofollow or nofollow blog. Find blogs in your niche using free blog finder software tools such as “free blog finder” and “fast blog finder” and find blogs in your niche, then share your thoughts, comments and ideas without trying to sell your own blog or service. Use your real name and your website url. If you have something valuable to share, people will click your name to find out more about the person behind the expert comment and visit your website.

Article Marketing : Write articles related to your industry. Articles can be reviews about your services or related products, top lists, best of lists, small tutorials, comparison tables, product selection wizards and case studies. Exchange these articles with other Linknami users. Your articles will be published in article and news pages that are actually read by real users, not just article directories or MFA Blogs where your article disappears in the vast amount of articles on these sites.
