Google Oldest Dated Search Result Contest
When searching in google, I usually try to find the latest and most relevant information available about topics and subjects.
I’m usually always aiming for information posted in 2010, if possible, or late 2009 if necessary, but I usually never click on results from 2008 or 2006 and if, then only in desperation.
A few days ago, I searched on google for something article-publishing related, Google offered me the result below as their first choice, dating back to 1998! Yes, thats a 12 year old article, which translates probably to 120 internet-years (considering the speed new developments are introduced)
If that was a very specific, unique and exotic long tail keyword, I would accept this result, but I used a pretty broad term: “publish article on” (without the quotes).
While the result may be somewhat relevant to the keyphrase, I find it a strange relation between age and relevance. I don’t believe that this is the best they can give me there out of over 74 million page results.
This makes me wonder, can you beat this? Do you know of any older number 1 result for a relatively broad keyword or keyphrase? Let me know in the comments below. The date must be displayed in the result description by google.
